Welcome to my website

This is a personal website to share with worldwide Pantera aficionados, my personal experience with De Tomaso factory group 4 race cars, and more generally,  the pleasure of driving such iconic cars.

You’ll find here below, the history of my favourite cars, and I hope you will enjoy them as much a I do.

For those who are looking for information, before or after buying a DE TOMASO, it is becoming very easy once you know what follows:

1.       Internet: Join my Blog,or subscribe to the daily, free of charge De Tomaso Internet forum : http://list.realbig.com/mailman/listinfo/detomaso, and register your car both on http://www.qv500.com/ and  www.provamo.com

2.        Apply registration to at least, both the US and the UK DE TOMASO clubs. This is the best investment you can do. Not only will you receive great magazines, but you will also have access to hundreds of people like you, who love those cars, and know how to take good care of them.

3.       Invest in some important books that you’ll regularly find on EBAY or in the USA. The history of the marque and of Alejandro DE TOMASO is fascinating. Do not neglect the classic cars exhibitions or trade shows, the most important European ones being in France ( Retromobile) , Germany ( Essen ) or UK, ( Birmingham ) , among many others.

4.       Invest in a serious security check, preferably performed by someone who already knows those cars. Otherwise, you’ll probably end up paying for the mechanic to understand how it works ( it happened to me). Leave nothing to chance, those cars are fast, even on the wet  ( where they are a LOT of fun to drive to the limit )

5.       On a stock street car, try to improve brakes as quickly as you can, it will be cheaper than repairing the front end after crashing ( like the 2 stroke three cylinders Kawasaki's 500 and 750 in the old days )

6.       Quite strangely, a modified Pantera is worth more than a stock car. Most of the Panteras are in the USA: this car has had a lifetime of more than 35 years, and still, it has kept the same appeal as when she came out of the factory. It really is an eye catcher. The snag is that most of the people who will look at your car were not born when she was launched .

7.       Test drive your car on a race track, even ( or especially ) when it’s wet. You will safely learn the limits of your car without damaging her, and you’ll have more and more fun ( at the beginning, it will be so-so...) You will also learn what needs to be changed, replaced, improved, upgraded, ....
